Loren Traylor, Chair

Melanie Buford, Deputy

Past efforts of the committee have included: supporting the Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation through a workshop that focuses on personal finance, dressing for success, habits of successful people, social and business etiquette and the importance of community involvement; judging the Torch Awards for the Better Business Bureau providing speakers to the community who can share information on the topics of business ethics and leadership; supporting the North Alabama RYLA and serving as a liaison for the Interact/Rotaract Clubs.

Our plans for 2009 - 2010 are to:

  • a. Continue support of the Huntsville Rehabilitation Foundation
  • b. Continue support to the Torch Awards program
  • c. Provide two networking meetings for the membership that will include the opportunity expand the knowledge of what our members do based on the concept of "5-minute speed networking" and facilitated by Loren Traylor and Melanie Buford.
  • d. Conduct "Rotary Trivia" activity in which two questions are asked about Rotary at the end of the Vocational Service meetings. However, would like to grow this to include the end of all meetings. Members would provide door prizes to be given to "contestants".
  • e. Conduct an off-site membership lunch at Huntsville Rehab to give members a visual idea of what other vocations are doing in the community.
