STRATEGIC PLAN
I. MISSION:
The mission of the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville is to provide service to others locally and internationally while demonstrating high ethical standards, professional fellowship and Service above Self
.
II. VISION:
To be and to be perceived as the friendliest service club in the community, with exceptional programs and a willingness to provide service above self to those in the community who are less fortunate.

IV. PRIORITIES & GOALS:
A. Increase Member Involvement.
- Develop a system for crediting member participation.
- Develop a program for recognizing member involvement.
- Insure members are aware of opportunities for involvement.
- Develop a Leadership Training Program
B. Develop Rotarians and Future Leaders Through Rotary Youth Programs.
· Revitalize Virginia College Rotoract Club .
· Revitaize Lee High School Interact Club.
· Establish Rotoract Clubs at UAH and ITT
· Support and evolve Huntsville Young Business People’s Rotoract Club.
· Support North Alabama Rotary Youth Leadership Award Program.
C. Expand RI Programs Support.
- Obtain a major Rotary Grant to expand. our Ugandan Literacy program
- Expand our Ugandan water system program.
- Examine other International Programs for participation
- Consider sponsoring a new Huntsville Daybreak (breakfast) club.
D. Increase Attendance.
· Encourage make-ups.
· Encourage POD Leaders to track member attendance
E. Increase Membership.
- Develop a plan of action for membership growth.
- Challenge each POD to (net) gain two members.
- Establish a contest among Pods for membership growth.
- Reward members that sponsor new members (e.g. one quarter dues free).
F. Increase Paul Harris Fellowships.
- Strive for 100% participation.
- Continuously inform the membership of progress/status.
- Continue Star Club Activity
- Attain 100% Paul Harris Sustaining member status.
G. Increase Local Fundraising.
- Improve GALA income.
- Consider second Fund Raising Activity.
- Identify additional Local Funding Needs.
- Expand REAP program.
ANNEX A
Supplemental/Action Plans
Re-Vitalize Lee High School Interact Club
· Verify that Club is no longer active
· Assign two Rotarians to work with school Administration to re-establish the Interact Club
· Provide guidance to school administration on how club should function
Re-Vitalize Virginia College Rotaract Club or move Activity to another campus
· Verify Virginia College Club is still alive and well
· If so, find another sponsor since Charlene has moved on, if not see if Charlene would be willing to start one at ITT, or investigate starting a new one at UAH or AL A&M
Firmly establish the Hsv Downtown/GHRC joint young business people’s Rotoract Club
· Provide leadership advice/mentoring for the club
· Help organize and write by-laws
· Help pick reasonable service projects
Rotary Youth Leadership Award
· Help provide leadership and organization with other two local clubs in Hsv
· Increase the attendance and help build a good learning program for attendees
Rotary Education and Assistance Program (REAP)
· Help the REAP project to do more for our community ($$ or efforts)
· Help reach out beyond the Hsv schools
Work a major grant to help do a significant (>$100K) project in Africa, e.g. put in water systems in a whole district or outfit whole district’s worth of books in the school system
