Community Service is the avenue that coordinates volunteer service to our community and youth. Every year, members of Greater Huntsville Rotary Club (GHRC) recommend projects within the community worthy of volunteer service. Several projects are sponsored annually, while others are one-time events organized to address a particular community need.
Ongoing projects within Rotary include: the sponsorship of Interact Clubs at Butler and Lee High Schools; sponsorship of student leaders at the Rotary Youth Leadership Award program; and observance of Family Values Week with a special program for Rotarians and guests. GHRC was proud to reactivate the Interact Club at Lee High School this year, while continuing to support the students at Butler.

Wheelchair Ramp Building Projects
Wheelchair Ramp Build - September 2009
The following people worked this past Saturday Sept 26,2009 to build a wheel chair ramp for Mrs. Townsend at 603 Dawson Terrace. We met about 7:30 am and began work under the threat of rain. With hard work and lots of energy the ramp was completed about 10:00 -- just as the rain began to sprinkle. Dave Thomas of CASA said that it rained about an inch at the site in the next half hour. Thanks to the following people who helped. It is our individual efforts that make a difference:
Cliff Broderick , Pete Luther, John Marshall, Barbara Martin, Larry Creech, George Lewis, Johnny Ozier, Art Hargrove, Jimmy Hill, Art Meier, Doug Barclay, Jim Daniels, Jake Jacobson, Mike Brown Non club member), Gary Andrew, and Rick Gates
